The Lady Friends series of concerts was conceived at Church of the Friendly Ghost's original Pedernales Street location, in East Austin, as a way to spotlight female experimental musicians. The series officially began in 2009 at Church of the Friendly Ghost's current home base Salvage Vanguard Theater. Lady Friends celebrates women on the leading-edge of contemporary musical expressions and provides performers and audience a space to connect and exchange ideas. The series has been on hold in recent years until now. In an effort to rekindle the series and make up for lost time, Daughter of Lady Friends Experimental Music Salon will be a two-day event featuring many exciting local, regional, and national female experimental musicians and artists.
